Our story
A family that found magic in the hive
It started with one hive and a lot of curiosity. Now we have 20 hives across the Illinois River Valley — and the whole family is in on it. The kids help with labels and tastings (they take quality control very seriously). Every jar gets filled, capped, and labeled by hand at our kitchen table.
We believe beekeeping done right is good for everyone — the bees, the land, the wildflowers, and the people who eat the honey. So we keep it simple, keep it raw, and keep it honest.

Why it matters
Beekeeping that's good for everyone
Regenerative beekeeping isn't a buzzword for us — it's how we sleep at night. Every choice we make is about keeping our bees strong, our land healthy, and our honey as pure as the Illinois prairie it comes from.
🌿
No synthetic chemicals — ever
We manage varroa mites with organic acids and integrated pest management. No antibiotics, no synthetic miticides.
🌸
Native forage & habitat
Our hives sit near native prairie and river valley wildflowers — the way bees thrived before monoculture farming.
🐝
Low-stress hive management
We only take surplus honey, always leaving plenty for the colony to overwinter strong and healthy.
♻️
Minimal packaging waste
Glass jars, recyclable lids, compostable labels. We're always looking for ways to reduce our footprint.

Raw Wildflower Honey
Straight from our Illinois River Valley hives. Unfiltered, never heated, packed with pollen, enzymes, and deep wildflower flavor. This is honey the way your great-grandparents ate it.
Our wildflower honey slowly crystallized into a smooth, cloud-like spread and swirled with real Ceylon cinnamon. Incredible on toast, oatmeal, or straight from the jar.
Hand-poured from 100% pure beeswax right out of our hives. Burns clean for 40+ hours with a subtle natural honey scent. No synthetic fragrance, no paraffin, no compromises.
Three ingredients: pure beeswax, coconut oil, and a kiss of honey. No petroleum jelly, no synthetic fragrance. Our kids helped name this one — they're very proud.
Four 4 oz honey varieties, one beeswax candle, and two lip balms in a kraft box with a handwritten card from our family to yours. The gift that tastes like we mean it.
Can't choose? Don't. Four 4 oz jars — wildflower, whipped, clover, and seasonal — so you can taste the whole hive. Perfect for first-timers and honey lovers alike.
Every variety is shaped by what's blooming, when we harvest, and which part of the valley the bees are exploring that season. Here's what's in your jar.

Illinois River Valley
Our 20 hives are near Ottawa, IL — in the heart of the Illinois River Valley. Our bees forage native prairie, river bottomland wildflowers, basswood trees, clover meadows, and garden flowers. It's one of the best places in the Midwest to keep bees.

Where it comes from
The land makes the flavor
Honey is essentially a map of what's blooming within three miles of a hive. In the Illinois River Valley, that means our bees visit native compass plants, wild bergamot, basswood blossoms, white clover, goldenrod, and dozens of other wildflowers depending on the season.
That's why our honey changes. Spring honey tastes different from summer honey. A hot dry year produces different nectar than a wet cool one. We think that's a feature, not a bug — it's the taste of a real place and a real family's work.
What we harvest
Our honey varieties
🌸
Spring Wildflower
April – June
Light, floral, and delicate. Our spring honey comes from the first blooms — wild plum, dandelion, and fruit tree blossoms. Bright and sweet with a clean finish. Our most popular variety.
Light amberFloralMild sweetness
🌻
Summer Prairie
July – August
Our boldest honey. Mid-summer brings basswood, wild bergamot, and compass plant into bloom. The result is rich and complex with a warm, slightly minty finish from the basswood nectar.
Deep amberBold & complexHints of mint
☘️
Golden Clover
June – July
The classic. White clover is the gold standard of American honey — clean, sweet, universally loved. This is the one we give to people who say they "don't really like honey." They always change their mind.
Light goldenClassic & cleanCrowd pleaser
🍂
Late Season Harvest
September – October
Dark, rich, and earthy. Goldenrod, aster, and buckwheat give our fall honey a robust, almost molasses-like depth. A small batch every year — if you like it, grab it fast.
